The South Warrnambool key forward sits second on the Hampden league goal-kicking table with 31 majors from nine matches.
It is a career-best for the former NAB League prospect who kicked 21 goals from 18 games last season.
Beks, 21, has hit the scoreboard in his nine appearances to date in 2019, including a bag of seven against Terang Mortlake and six against Camperdown.
"I have probably been a little bit smarter with my running and my body work at the ball when it comes near me, they're probably my biggest improvements from last year," he said.
"The last few years I think I would play a good game and then be quiet for a few weeks and then play another good game.
"This year is a lot more consistent from week-to-week and I am kicking a few more goals which is handy."

Beks, who stands at 196 centimetres, prefers to play forward but can be thrown into the ruck.
"The last few weeks I have been (spending time in the ruck) because Sam Kelly has been injured and then he's been away," he said.
"It is a bit of a juggling act, obviously Manny (Sandow) is the number one ruckman and they've tried to keep me out of there as much as possible.
"It will be a week-to-week proposition with who we're playing and who we've got available."
Beks, who represented Vic Country at the AFL under 18 national championships as a teenager, is the only South Warrnambool player to have kicked double-figure goals in 2019. The line-breaking Paddy Anderson and Kelly have both registered nine from seven matches each.
Beks said the Roosters were dynamic when they used their foot skills going into attack but admitted "there is still a long way to go".
"We've had a lot of different players run through our forward line this year which has been good for us," he said.
"We don't have a settled side yet but I think it's been pretty promising.
"The last few weeks we've got done by seven points to the top-two sides (North Warrnambool Eagles and Warrnambool) on the ladder and we haven't played anywhere near where we wanted to.
"I think there is a lot of improvement but it's pretty exciting that when we do kick-in to gear we could be a handful for a lot of teams."
