A Warrnambool man recently jailed for attempting to flee a court room and throwing punches at emergency service workers is back in custody with the intention to apply for bail.

Leigh James, 28, of Janlor Drive, Warrnambool, appeared briefly in Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, driving while disqualified, speeding, handling stolen goods and possessing prescription drugs.
Mr James was released from jail in March after serving 140 days for theft of a motor vehicle, wilfully ceasing to be in custody and driving-related offences.

He appeared in court over the car theft in December and after being denied bail, he jumped from the dock and ran from the courtroom, resulting in several officers chasing him down.
He resisted arrest and threw punches at two police custody officers.
Mr James indicated he would make a bail application on July 5.
He was remanded in custody until that date.
