Detective Sergeant Mark James, of the Hamilton police crime investigation unit, said the theft report was made last week but it was likely the wool bales went missing in late March.
He said the wool bales went missing between March 21 and 28 from The Wannon property at Falkenberg Road, west of Hamilton.
"The wool bales weigh about 200 kilograms each but it is unknown exactly when or how they went missing," he said.
"We would expect that the offenders would have needed a trailer or truck to have removed the wool bales because of the weight involved."

"We would request anyone who knows about this theft, or other farm related crime, to contact the Hamilton police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Please report thefts immediately," he said.
