After a week off to allow for the public holiday, there was an increased yarding of 116 cattle presented at the Hamilton fat cattle market.
The market showed good trends on quality cattle presented, with this being consistent on market trends for the region.
A smaller yarding of two bulls were presented, with the best bull selling at $2.20 per kg easing slightly on the previous market from a fortnight ago.
The trade cattle presented showed dearer trends on the good quality cattle yarded.
Heavier trade heifers sold at an average of $2.38 per kg with a market top of $2.55 per kg.
Only a handful of bullocks were yarded selling at an average of $1.90 per kg, however the quality bullocks yarded performed well selling at market high prices around the $2.60 per kg mark.
Overall, lighter heifers sold well in the market with an increase of 10 cents per kg on past markets.
Again, a high percentage of the yarding was a good run of cows.
Heavy beef cows sold well with a market high of $2.40 per kg and the best net per head value of $1649 and averaging $1.92 per kg.

HAMILTON SHEEP & LAMBS
June 12. Yarding: 11,474. Change: down 1579. Lambs: 7512. Change: 854. Sheep: 3962. Change: down 2433.
There was a similar sized penning of 7400 lambs and a reduction in sheep numbers to 3740 head.
Quality overall was not as good as last week with most lambs being of mainly plain to average quality and fewer heavy weights came forward.
The sheep offering also was of leaner condition but covered all weights.
The regular buyers were present but not all operated fully.
Prices for light weight lambs averaged $10/head higher, aided somewhat by keener restocker competition.
The trade weight lambs averaged unchanged while heavier lambs made equal prices at best.
The sheep sale was mostly unchanged in prices, though one major exporter was not operating.
The light weight 12-18kg 1 and 2 score lambs sold from $88 to $162 with restockers going to $155/head.
The medium weight 18-22kg 2 and 3 score lambs were from $130 to $206/head and averaged just over 800c/kg cwt.
Heavy weight 22-26kg 3 and 4 score lambs made between $180 and $250/head with an estimated average cost of 845c/kg cwt.
Extra heavy 4 score lambs topped at $265/head and averaged 825c/kg cwt. Light weight 1 and 2 score sheep sold from $58 to $123 with medium weight 2 and 3 scores from $117 to $168/head.
Heavy weight 2 to 4 score sheep made $148 to $210/head with a run of ewes just over 600c/kg cwt, on todays quality.
Wethers were limited to the light to medium weights and these topped at $130/head.
Heavy hoggets topped at $194/head. Rams of all weights were from $70 to $202/head.

WOOL REPORT
For week ending June 14.
In all three centres, best style wools with favourable additional measurements attracted strong buyer demand but their limited supply contributed to the EMI losing 41 cents to 1,823 c/kg clean. The national pass-in rate was 21.3 per cent. Next week, Sydney and Melbourne are selling with 19,745 bales on offer.
This week's Sydney market followed the same trend as last week. Buyers discounted poorer style lots with low staple strength and selectively sought out those lots with best style and favourable additional measurements. However, the limited selection of lots with best style tipped the balance towards discounts and resulted in reductions in all Merino Price Guides (MPGs). Merino skirtings trended cheaper, while crossbred and oddment lots eased on Wednesday and were either unchanged or firmed slightly on Thursday. The Northern Regional Indicator lost 41 cents to 1,842 c/kg clean and the Northern Merino Carding Indicator dropped 24 cents to 997 c/kg clean. The Sydney pass-in rate was 13.7 per cent
The Melbourne selection was dominated by lots with reduced yield and unfavourable additional measurements. This led to falls of between 39 and 72 cents across all Merino MPGs. Merino skirtings mirrored the fleece lots with reductions across the range. Crossbred lots held up well on Wednesday, but poorly prepared lots fell by 30 cents on Thursday. Oddments had mixed results. The Southern Regional Indicator ended the week at 1,810 c/kg clean down 42 cents with the Southern Merino Carding Indicator losing 17 cents to 975 c/kg clean. The Melbourne pass-in rate was 17.5 per cent.
Wednesday saw falls of up to 85 cents in all Merino MPGs. Growers were reluctant to sell at these levels with a 29.9 per cent pass in rate. Thursday's market was mixed, with the finer MPGs easing further with some small gains in the broader MPGs. Merino skirtings tended dearer, while the limited selection of oddments eased. The Western Regional Indicator ended at 1,937 c/kg clean down 55 cents and the Merino Carding Indicator lost 20 cents to 1,015 c/kg clean. The Fremantle pass-in rate was 40.2 per cent despite the smallest offering for 12 months.
