Prior to the recent blitz, there were eight drink drivers caught in the town between New Year's Eve and the end of May.
Port Fairy police Acting Sergeant Andrew Macmillan said officers had been left wondering what it would take before the motoring public start to accepted that the road toll can only be reduced with the help of every driver.
Port Fairy police detected three drink drivers in a 34-hour period at the start of the month.
Even though we are a small team at the Port Fairy police station we are dedicated and we will eliminate affected drivers from our local roads.

Acting Sergeant Macmillan said a Port Fairy father and his son were then caught drink driving 14 hours apart.
"The 64-year-old father was breath tested and found to have a reading of 0.107 per cent at 5.30pm on Monday," he said.
"Then his 36-year-old son blew 0.081 per cent at 7.30am on Tuesday after consuming at least nine cans of bourbon and cola the night before."
The middle-aged man had his licence immediately suspended and he faces 10 months off the road.
The son was issued with an infringement notice and his licence was banned for six months.

"Both will require interlocks to be fitted to their vehicle once their licences are reinstated," Acting Sergeant Macmillan said.
He said the cost of interlock devices was significant.
Devices cost up to $1500 to have them installed and up to $200 a month for maintenance.
Acting Sergeant Macmillan said a small minority of drivers thought it was OK to break the law.
"It is never OK to drink and drive. Even though we are a small team at the Port Fairy police station we are dedicated and we will eliminate affected drivers from our local roads," he said.
The sergeant said speeding also continued to be an issue even after police leaders implored people to be patient.
"That message appears not to be sinking in either. In only four hours on Tuesday Port Fairy police issued seven speeding tickets," he said.
