Detective Sergeant Jason von Tunk said the tickets and a full police Blue Ribbon Foundation charity tin had been taken from the store.
He said crime scene officers were on the way to Casterton to forensically examine the premises.
Anyone with information is requested to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Earlier: Police have been called and are heading to a burglary at a Casterton newsagency.
The break-in happened overnight after offenders kicked in a rear door.
They gained entry to the newsagency and access a safe but were unable to open the safe.
Police investigations are only just starting and anyone with information about the burglary is requested to contact the Hamilton police station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
