South Warrnambool will be without utility Noah Kol for the remainder of the Hampden league season after he fractured his leg against Hampden league arch rival Warrnambool at Reid Oval.
A drop punt away at Mack Oval, South Rovers' Matthew Farmer broke his arm in a Warrnambool and District league clash against Panmure.
Their coaches, Mat Battistello and Adam Matheson, said the pair would leave gaping holes in their line-ups.
You can read their responses via the links below.
There was cause for celebration too.
Camperdown welcomed back premiershop coach Ken Hinkley who found time in his busy AFL schedule to be part of the Magpies' 1999 flag reunion.
Hinkley is also hoping to steer Port Adelaide to the holy grail during his time at Alberton Oval.
There was an AFL flavour at Bushfield too with Michael Barlow making an appearance for North Warrnambool Eagles against Hamilton Kangaroos.
Next weekend is a special one on the Hampden league ladder with Cobden and Camperdown joining forces with the Big Freeze For Fight MND.
Ex-Bomber Gary Rohan will make the most of Geelong's AFL bye and return home to take the icy plunge down the slide.
Let's hope the entire south-west community gets behind this great cause.
Until next time, may the best team win.
