A Terang man who published photos of his ex-partner's new boyfriend on social media and wrongfully called him a pedophile has been jailed for five months.

Andrew Schroen, 29, appeared in Warrnambool County Court on Thursday where he intended to appeal against the severity of a five-month jail term imposed in 2018 after he pleaded guilty to persistently breaching a family violence intervention order.
But Judge Paul Higham said the sentence was lenient and Schroen faced a real possibility of being re-sentenced to a longer term of imprisonment.
Schroen, who was self-represented, abandoned his appeal and was taken into custody where he will spend his 30th birthday.
The offending occurred between October and November 2018 and involved Schroen's former partner and her new boyfriend.
A court order prohibits Schroen from contacting the victims, remaining within 200 metres and publishing on the internet about them.
Between October 31 and November 4, Schroen sent threatening messages to the male victim.
He published photos of the victim and wrongly claimed he was a pedophile on two Facebook groups.
Schroen also contacted his former partner on social media 16 times in eight days and drove a grey Commodore across their property.
At the time of the offending Schroen was on a community corrections order for similar offending as well as possessing 15 grams of cannabis.
In 2013 he was jailed for one month for posting disgusting information on a Facebook site about his former partner.
