Numbers remain strong, with agents penning an increased yarding this week. Quality was primarily plain, with a small number of better finished bullocks and yearlings lifting prices across some categories. The entire regular field of buyers was present and operating in a firm to better market trend. Good C muscled yearlings suiting the trade continue to be scarce, with steers easing 10c, making from 275c to 290c/kg. There were some good quality heifers lifting prices up to 5c, receiving from 270c to 280c/kg. Feedlot cattle were also scarce today, with the better feeder steers and heifers easing 8c, making from 230c to 250c/kg. Only a small number of good quality grown steers and bullocks suiting the export processors were offered, resulting in a price lift of 14c for grown steers, receiving 275c to 311c, as bullocks remained firm, from 268c to 292c/kg. Manufacturing lifted, with the best of the crossbred portion making 248c and the better dairy steers receiving from 220c to 228c/kg.
