The grand final rematch was just as good as the original with the game decided in the final minutes thanks to the calm shooting of Molly Hutt, whose 20 goals helped seal a 48-47 win.
Starr said the Saints exposed issues in the Bombers' full-court defence, something she plans on addressing in the coming weeks.
But the first-year Bombers mentor said her side needs to stick to its guns to keep away from the lower-ranked teams eager to end its unbeaten streak.
"We're just focused on our own game and we don't worry about who we're playing and don't look at particular teams and what we have to do against different teams," Starr said.
"It's about fine-tuning our play, structures and systems."
Starr said the gritty win over the Saints would give her side a confidence boost before games against Terang Mortlake, Camperdown, Warrnambool and North Warrnambool Eagles before the mid-season bye.
"You always want to win but it's a really great test to come up against Koroit, who were sitting second on the ladder, and it was such a great game and a great game to watch," she said.
"The girls just really knuckled down and kept going."

Starr was impressed with the match-winning performance of Hutt but praised another player, who was locked in a tense mid-court battle with a star Saint.
"I gave our best on court to Amy Hammond. I thought she had another ripper game, she ran all day and got into some really good feeding positions," she said.
"She played half the game on Emily-Rose Finnigan and it was a great battle to watch between them two.
"Both of them just want to win and both go hard at the ball, contest everything and that's what you want from your centres, you want them to control the game."
Koroit coach Stacey O'Sullivan was rapt with her side despite the heartbreaking loss, saying it was able to control the Bombers for a majority of the contest before eventually going down.
"I think we probably got more out of it than maybe what they did," she said.
"They probably didn't play their best game. I think we can take it to them (later in the season).
"We just played our game and some teams think our game is slow and steady but that's what Koroit does."
O'Sullivan said her side's recent impressive form, which has netted victories over the Eagles and Portland, has come from the middle of the court.
"Our mid-court controlled the game today so our three mid-court players were all named in the best," she said.
"Rosie (Emily-Rose Finnigan) had a really steady game, Zahli (Adams) really upped the tempo defensively and Belle (Baker) played goals and wing attack and was dynamic."
