Christopher Brown, 30, of Carpendeit, appeared in Warrnambool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with 26 offences.
The court heard he was withdrawing from alcohol and drugs. He was remanded in custody will appear at Colac Magistrates' Court on July 8.
Leading Senior Constable Steven Clissold told The Standard the offender was finally nabbed on May 27 when Camperdown police found him unconscious under the influence of drugs behind the wheel of his running car a metre into the roadway on Lavers Hill-Cobden Road, outside of Cobden.
He said police uncovered a number of knives in his vehicle, which included a hunting knife, an eight-inch folding hunting knife, a box cutter and a homemade 10-inch knife.
Police say the 26 charges all occurred on four separate occasions from 11 April to 27 May.
He will face six charges for incidents that took place on May 27, including driving under the influence of illicit drugs, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and control weapons in vehicle.
On April 11 he was charged with recklessly engaging in conduct that placed another person in danger of serious injury, assault and ramming when he rammed two vehicles in Colac.
On April 28 he allegedly rammed another vehicle with three people inside and was charged with dangerous driving and three assault charges. He was allegedly driving 120 km/h in a 50 zone.
He is also accused of criminal damage in Rowsley, near Bacchus Marsh, where he allegedly inflicted $1000 worth of damage to a fence on May 22.
"He's been on a six week crime spree, and each time he took off in a vehicle," Leading Senior Constable Clissold said.
"He was unlicensed on all occasions. When we picked him up around 4.30pm on Monday he was unconscious at the wheel, the car was running and he was about a metre on the roadway.
"It's very dangerous behaviour and very unsafe for road users.
"Police were not aware of the man before the offences, but it's believed he was known to the parties in the cars that he rammed.
"He was in different vehicles on each occasion, none stolen that we are aware of."
