There were upsets, confidence-boosting wins and the emergence of a new finals fancy in the District league.
Allansford is the talk of the WDFNL after they secured a win over another finals hopeful in South Rovers.
But powerhouse clubs Kolora-Noroat, Nirranda and Old Collegians kept their stranglehold on the top part of he ladder with respective victories over Timboon Demons, East Warrnambool and Panmure.
In the Hampden league North Warrnambool Eagles continued their undefeated run against the five-time reigning premier, while Cobden netted its first win of the year under lights against Portland.
Warrnambool also put the breaks on Port Fairy's fast start to the season, while Camperdown also surged back onto the winner's list with a victory over Hamilton Kangaroos.
Hopefully more interesting rounds continue to play out like this one across both leagues in the future.
Until next week,
Sean Hardeman
