The Roosters led for majority of the match before an 11 goal to nine final-term surge saw the Bloods go down 40-389 on the buzzer.
"We've been quite nervous the last few weeks," Van Rooy said. "We started off the year playing great netball but we haven't had Marlie Boyd the last two games and we have missed her strength and maturity.
"We've looked a bit nervous at times and we definitely want to overcome that against Camperdown."
The Magpies are the next challenge van Rooy's side will have to battle and the second-year mentor knows exactly what to expect.
"We have to take that physical to them because they never give up and play quite a physical style of game," she said.
"We know that and we need to keep playing our game instead of getting flustered. We're also not scoring enough from our turnovers.
"We're working on improving that or we'll continue to find ourselves in more close games."
