It was the Hampden league's match of the round in both the football and netball.
And after all the mid-week hype, the two sides didn't disappoint.
Former coaching partners Chris McLaren and Adam Dowie went head to head in a seesawing contest that saw former AFL player Billie Smedts show his class with five goals.
Dowie's Eagles, led by Mitch Bowman, eventually got up by six points.
But Koroit got the last laugh in the netball, with Stacey O'Sullivan's side defeating Jaime Barr's outfit by just one goal.
South Warrnambool also enjoyed a one-goal win over Terang Mortlake.
Over at Reid Oval, a battered Warrnambool defeated Port Fairy by 29 points in the football despite finishing the game without any players on the bench.
The Seagulls' Colin Harwood put on a masterclass while Matt Sully restricted the league's leading goal-kicker Darren Ewing to just two majors.
But the Blues had too many winners out there including Jordan Foott, Jye Turland, Damien McCorkell and Alex Shipard.
Other winners included South Warrnambool, Camperdown and Cobden.
The North Warrnambool Eagles are now top of the HFNL's football ladder, while Cobden remain on top in the netball.
