Moor Wanted was heavily backed to win a benchmark 70 race at the Warrnambool Carnival earlier this month but raises in grade to a benchmark 78 at Flemington.
"Saturday is a big step up in grade for Moor Wanted," Chow said. "He won well at Warrnambool in a lesser grade. This is his toughest test to date.
"He's got to find a couple of lengths. I'm prepared to forget his run in Adelaide when he failed two runs back.
"I think the biggest danger is Parsifal trained by Will Clarken. He's got very strong form and looks to be suited in this race."
MORE RACING:
The former Port Fairy footballer has called on the services of apprentice jockey Fred Kersley to guide Moor Wanted down the famous Flemington straight.
"Fred has won a race on him over 1200 metres at Flemington," Chow said. " Fred's claim of two kilograms brings Moor Wanted into the race.
"We haven't done much work with him since his win at Warrnambool. We've just kept him fresh for this race."
Fellow Warrnambool trainers Aaron Purcell, Daniel Bowman and Simon Ryan have runners at the meeting, while the powerful Ciaron Maher - David Eustace training combination has numerous starters on the nine-race program.
The Maher-Eustace stable also has Dubious running in the group one Kingsford-Smith Cup at Eagle Farm.
