With all the injuries that can happen in the game, reaching 400 matches is an incredible feat.
Walsh will reach the mega milestone against Panmure in the Warrnambool and District league reserves on Saturday.
The 42-year-old onballer said a great club was the secret to making it to the milestone.
"It's probably got a lot to do with the club, my family has been part of the club," he said.
"When you've been here so long, you're pretty much part of the furniture.
"It's just the enjoyment of it all."
Walsh said he considered himself "lucky" to have played most of his football at Old Collegians.
"I've met a lot of amazing people, made some great friends and lifelong mates and had a bit of success along the way," he said.
Walsh was part of reserves premiership teams in 1995, 2005 and 2017.
The much-loved clubman, who started playing for the Warriors in 1992, played three years in under 18s before senior footy.
He has played most of his career in the reserves but also two years in the top grade.
The Old Collegians life member said he had been fortunate with injuries during his 30-year career.
"I was lucky earlier on not to have any," he said.
"But as you get a bit longer in the career, you break down a little bit."
Walsh said one highlight of his career was the first senior match he played with his son Jayden Brooks.
"It was his first senior game and it was pretty much my last," he said with a laugh.
"He kicked two goals and got in the best and I broke my arm and went to hospital."
The 400-gamer will play in the reserves match which starts at 12.40pm at Davidson Oval on Saturday.
