On November 11 Delaney was intercepted by police on Warrnambool's Hopetoun Road about 12.30am.
A search of the vehicle located four bags of ice weighing two grams inside the glove box.
Delaney told police he had purchased the drugs moments before he was intercepted and he attempted to conceal them inside the glove box.
He said the drugs were for his own use and he expected they would last him a few weeks.
Mr Coghlan said there were no allegations of drug trafficking but the amount was not insignificant.
Delaney was fined $650 and ordered to pay $124 in statutory costs
