The Warriors have netted 416 goals after seven rounds, the highest in the Warrnambool and District league, with an average of 59.42 goals per game.
But the team's defence, says playing-coach Meagan Forth, has been its Achilles' heel.
And the numbers back her case.
Old Collegians has conceded 333 goals, which makes for the worst defensive record in the league's top five and the third worst across the 11-strong competition.
"We're just focusing on our ball use and transition out of defence," Forth said.
"We've been getting lots of turnovers, which is great, so it's more about moving the ball into the attacking end as best we can.
"I wouldn't say it's a problem though, more of an area to be improved.
"The aim is to concede fewer goals and get the ball in our goalies' hands."
Old Collegians, currently second with a 6-1 record after a 55-49 win over Russells Creek, host Panmure at Davidson Oval on Saturday.
And Forth said it was the perfect tune-up ahead of its post-bye clash with WDFNL powerhouse Dennington.
"I think Panmure could be a surprise packet as we haven't seen much of them," she said.
"We'll need a four-quarter effort because we beat Russells Creek with two good ones, but you can't afford to do that every week."
