The third of four movie nights to be held at the hall is a chance to bring people in and build a strong local community according to organiser Geoff Rollinson.

"Because the Purnim population is growing so dramatically, it falls on the community halls to be the meeting place to get people together," Mr Rollinson said.

"This is one of the events we run to help build a sense of community in Purnim."

"And if you want to roll jaffas down the isles then you can help with the cleaning at the end."

The free event has been funding from Moyne Shire events program and will feature three short 1960's era Superman cartoons and the 2017 film Sweet Country, directed by Warwick Thornton and starring Sam Neill and Bryan Brown.

"This will be a family-friendly night, with popcorn provided for everyone," Mr Rollinson said.

"It is intended to be an after-dinner event so people are able to bring something for supper."

"There are a number of young families in Purnim who are looking for local entertainment options."

"This is one activity that is good for young families."

The Purnim Movie Night will run at the Purnim Hall on Hopkins Highway. The first film will start at 6.30pm and the main feature at 7.30pm. Entry is free, but people may make a voluntary gold coin donation.
