A Boral Warrnambool spokesman said a contractor had inadvertently let the substance spill from a tip truck on Henna Street between Merri Street and Raglan Parade on Thursday morning.
He said the substance, which is cement and materials diluted with water, would wash off. But he urged people to take care when removing it.
"Just wash it off but don't bring it off straight away, it's slurry and it could scratch it a little bit. It will come off," the spokesman said.
"I don't know the amount (spilled) and I don't know how many cars are affected."
He said Warrnambool City Council was aware of the incident and anyone affected could contact Boral Warrnambool during business hours.
