An 80-point demolition of the Ballarat Football Netball league at Mars Stadium saw the Bottle Green rise from number eight to number six in the rankings, released on Tuesday.
This puts the Hampden league in line to play either fifth-ranked Ovens and Murray or seventh-ranked Western Region in 2020, with the schedule to be confirmed later this year.
Many expected the monster win to thrust the Bottle Green into the championship's top five.
But Hampden league assistant coach Adam Dowie said he couldn't care less about the precise number.
"I don't think Browny, the players, the selectors or anyone involved would lose sleep over them because it's the way we played that really matters," he said.
"For me the biggest thing to come out of the weekend was the commitment of the players.
"It was just outstanding...such a selfless and team-orientated brand of football.
"One team was out there playing as a unit, while the other one was made of individuals.
"We played the Hampden brand of footy with lots of handballs - that was our first instinct where it was Ballarat's last one.
"Our guys chased and pressured. And it looked like it meant more to them."
The Hampden league's vanquished opponent got the chance to play off against Goulburn Valley at the MCG in 2018.
And the North Warrnambool Eagles mentor said anything was possible with Brown at the helm, whether it be a drive into the competition's top handful of sides or the possibility of an AFL curtain-raiser.
"The great thing about having him as the head figure is that the guys all want to play under him," he said.
"So it would be great to see a curtain-raiser and if you had to pick anyone to push it for us, we've got the right man in Jonathan Brown."
The victory maintained Brown's perfect record in charge of Hampden's side since 2017, as the Bottle Green won its third game in a row since a 66-point belting at the hands of Ovens and Murray in 2016.
Ranked 11th after that loss, the Hampden league has since jumped five places after defeating the South East league by 18 points in 2017, the Bendigo league by nine points in 2018 and now the Ballarat league.
"I genuinely believe we can challenge the best league in the state," Brown recently told The Standard.
"We are in the conversation now as one of the better leagues in the state so make no bones about that and hopefully we can put that on display as a curtain-raiser next year."
The Northern Football Netball League have secured the number-one ranking after defeating Geelong Football Netball League by 24 points.
The Hampden league last won the state championship in 1991.
