"I'll wait and see how I go at training," he said.
"I'm hoping to play.
"I've still got stitches and I get them out tonight."
Youl missed out on Hampden interleague success on Saturday after sustaining an injury against Cobden in round five.
The Rooters' leader needed stitches above his eye after an incident in the second quarter of that match.
AFL Western District has launched an investigation into the incident and Youl said he did not wish to comment on it.
Youl did not participate in Hampden interleague training last week due to the injury because he "didn't want to risk it cutting open again".
The Roosters' leader will see a doctor tonight and get his stitches removed.
He said he would discuss his availability with coach Mat Battistello later in the week.

Fifth-placed South Warrnambool will travel to D.C. Farran Oval to face Terang Mortlake on Saturday.
Youl said the Roosters' focus going forward was to put together a four quarter effort.
He said his side had suffered lapses in each of their five matches so far.
Ninth-placed Terang Mortlake will be after its first win of the season when the sides meet.
