Daniel Griffiths, 24, of Swanston Street, Terang, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to more than 30 charges.

Lawyer Matt Pitkin said Griffiths had an intellectual disability and was addicted to the drug ice. He said the offending occurred in the spur of the moment and his client had since had time to reflect on the seriousness of his crimes while in custody on remand.

Griffiths was sentenced to a non parole period of 10 months with 119 days counted as time served.

On December 22 Griffiths and Liam O'Flaherty, 18, of Banyan Street, broke into The Jean Jail in Warrnambool's Koroit Street by smashing the front door with a rock. They stole 20 watches from the counter and two scooters.

Then on December 28 Griffiths and two co-accused stole a 2004 ford utility from a property in Warrnambool's Wellington Street. They took the vehicle for a drive before setting it on fire at Levys beach.

On January 4, Griffiths and O'Flaherty broke into a property in Elliot Street while the victim slept and stole a $45,000 Toyota Hilux, a TV worth $1850 and a wallet.

They then traveled to Nullawarre and stole a Holden Commodore station wagon.

The pair drove the stolen vehicles to Hamilton and Horsham, where they used the credit card stolen from the Elliot Street address to purchase cigarettes and petrol.

Police said the stolen Hilux and Commodore were later observed travelling at an extremely fast speed past Midfield Meats abattoir. Police later found the Hilux burnt out and completely destroyed.

The Commodore was recovered hidden in shrubs near the Warrnambool water treatment plant.

Then on January 6, Griffiths and an unknown co-accused stole a Toyota Corolla, a Nissan Patrol and two unsecured firearms.

The co-accused drove the Corolla through Terang while Griffiths hung out the window and pointed the gun at two victims in another vehicle.

The pair then drove to Warrnambool, where they rear-ended a car on Raglan Parade about 4am. When the victims exited their vehicle, Griffiths pointed a gun at them and told them he would blow their brains out.

Police said the Corolla was located on the side of the road the following day. The Nissan Patrol was found torched and dumped in the Hopkins River near Framlingham.

During that time period, Griffiths also stole a vehicle from Warrnambool central Mcdonald's and attempted to steal another car at a construction site. That vehicle did not start and Griffiths proceeded to smash the lights, windscreen and windows with rocks.

Then on January 16 Griffiths was observed driving a Toyota Camry stolen from a property in Warrnambool's Stanley Street. Police attempted to intercept the offender, who sped off before driving directly at two police vehicles, forcing them to take evasive action to avoid a collision.

Griffiths has never held a driver's licence.
