A YOUNG Terang girl was amazed by the resilient spirit of students at a school in Cambodia.

Charli Dillon had the chance to travel to the country and help build a wash house at a school.
She said when she arrived at the school, it was obvious the students didn't have much.
"All they had was three tyre swings coming down from the tree, three old chairs that rocked and three tyre swings hanging from a pole," she said. "They didn't have much but they were very happy."
Charli, who is a student at St Thomas Primary School, said she was extremely grateful to community members who had donated money to help build the wash house for the school.
"Terang really is a small town with a big heart," she said. "I have been overwhelmed with support from all of my friends and also people I don't even know.
"I will never be able to say thank you enough."
Charli said she was ectastic her grandparents had asked her to join them on the trip. She said the group had raised almost $3000 and collected about 350 toothbrushes. Charli said it was a special day when the students were shown the wash house.
"The kids were very happy to have something they could wash their hands with," she said.
