WESTERN District Golf Association junior co-ordinator Matt McLeod knows the side he has picked will not be flustered by a course they haven't played on.

The nine-player team, which includes Noah Best, Josh Brown, Saige and Tayne Perry, Jai Cassamento, George Beasley, Riley Scanlon and Bailey Borgmeyer, will travel to Cobram Barooga this weekend to represent the WDGA at the Victorian Country Championships.
McLeod said the squad was capable of holding its own when its members were away from familiar courses.
"I think most of the kids we have picked aren't playing on home courses regularly and are going away playing different courses," he said.
"When they go to these competitions they don't get intimated playing on different greens and fairways.
"Probably the hardest thing is getting up there five hours on a bus and getting them ready Saturday morning to have a good warm up."
MORE GOLF:
McLeod said the squad, which is missing a few familiar and strong players, would still have strong golfers to fight to retain the handicap and a possibility to push for scratch honours.
"We are missing a couple of real good players with Will McKenzie going to America, Logan Lilley is unavailable and we have three guys coming in that haven't played," he said.
"We have George Beasley, Riley Scanlon and Bailey Borgmeyer all coming in and they've dropped five or six shots (from their handicap) over the summer.
"Noah Best will be one of our leading players as he has been playing pennant in Melbourne and Noah McLeod will to as he is playing off (handicap of) one. East Framlingham's Josh Brown is also a handy golfer."
McLeod said the introduction of three new faces and the absence of some regular players will help the association's future.
"We will go there to defend handicap section and if we could achieve that it would be great," he said.
"Then over the next year when Will and Logan come back and we would have progressed and their return makes us stronger and there is no reason why they can't win scratch."
