MORTLAKE'S Georgia Wareham has retained her spot in the Victorian Victorian women's list after a busy 2018-19 Australian summer.
The 19-year-old, who made her debut for Victoria in the 2017-18 season, was one of five Cricket Australia contracted players in captain Meg Lanning, housemate Sophie Molineux, Elyse Villani and new face Ellyse Perry in the 19-player squad.
Cricket Victoria General Manager Shaun Graf said the side would be eager to make an impact in the upcoming Women's National Cricket League season.
"We're looking to improve on last season and be contending for the WNCL title regularly," he said.
"We're proud to have five players recognised with national contracts and we want to see more players earning national honours."
Graf said Perry's experience will help the development of her younger teammates.
"With Meg Lanning, Elyse Villani and now Ellyse Perry in the squad - you couldn't really ask for better role models for young players looking to progress their cricket careers to the next level," he said.
"Ellyse is obviously one of the best players in the world. We know she'll be a significant asset on the field but we're equally excited by the leadership role she'll play within the squad to help fast track some of the young talent on our list."
