Warrnambool RSPCA Shelter supervisor Tracey Patterson said the 85 cats and kittens in the shelter needed families to take care of them.
"There has been an extended kitten season this year," Mrs Patterson said.
"If families are looking to adopt a kitten, now is the time."
Adoption fees are being waived for all cats over five months old, but younger kittens being adopted will cost a discounted rate of $50.

"This is our big push to try and help us find loving homes for these cats," Mrs Patterson said.
"We still have a range of other animals available including dogs, rabbits and birds, for those people looking for something else."
