Jelena Popovic slammed two motorists in the Warrnambool Magistrates Court on Monday for travelling at more than 150km/h on south-west roads.
Eh Nay Soe, 23, of Carey Close, Werribee, was clocked at 160km/h on the Hamilton Highway near Lismore on February 23. He told police he was going to Mount Gambier and thought he was only doing 140km/h.
Bradley Jamieson, 25, of Colcott Street, Timboon, drove an unroadworthy vehicle at 153km/h on Rowans Road in Nullawarre on November 26, leaving behind 60 metre-long skid marks.
Ms Popovic said she didn't know how to get the message through to dangerous drivers.
She said she had been the coroner presiding over a number of "needless deaths", where motorists had died as a result of speeding.
She said she used to ask police officers to describe to offenders the accident scenes they had responded to, but replaying the "gross carnage" was too upsetting.

"Every five kilometres (per hour) makes an enormous difference to injuries caused (in a crash)," Ms Popovic said. "Nothing is worth driving at 160km/h."
Ms Popovic said if a kangaroo had jumped out onto the road, the motorists would have been dead.
She disqualified Soe and Jamieson's licenses for 12 months and fined them a combined $2200.
