The league's 12-player squad was released on Thursday with six of the 10 teams represented in team which will play at the association championships in Frankston on June 23 and the upcoming interleague match against Ballarat Football Netball League in Ballarat on May 12.

Cobden features heavily in the squad with Amy Hammond, Remeny McCann, Nadine McNamara and Jess Wheadon all selected in the side.

Koroit premiership captain Emily-Rose Finnigan and star shooter Nell Mitchell, Port Fairy utility Carly Watson, Warrnambool leaders Amy Wormald and Sarah O'Keeffe, Camperdown's Jess Cameron and North Warrnambool Eagles' Billings sisters - Skye and Jordyn - round out the squad.

"We would love to win and go better than we did last year," Starr said of her expectations for this year's championships.

"I think with this team we will be pushing to make the top two. We finished third last year and this year I feel we have got more depth."

Starr, who coached the interleague side last season, said she was pleased with the players she had at her disposal but admitted the fast-approaching interleague game would be a key stage for her team to test gameplans.

"We have got good height across the board and some good versatility," she said.

"The first interleague game is going to be us coming together on court and I feel we have some athletes so speed and transition with the ball will make a real difference."

Starr was excited by the prospect of having the Billings sisters back into the side.

"They bring lots of chat to the court and they are obviously very good athletes," she said.

"Having players at each end of the court who have played together forever makes it easy to transition the ball because they have that understanding."

The experienced coach was also pleased to have star Warrnambool goalie Amy Wormald in the side but said she would not be available for the association champs.
