Mortlake police Acting Sergeant Paul McLean said the 30-year-old Mortlake man was arrested on an outstanding warrant on Sunday.
He said in April police attempted to intercept the accused, who sped off at nearly 60km/h over the limit on the Hamilton Highway.
"This is extremely disappointing and dangerous behaviour," Sergeant McLean said.
"He said the reason he fled is because he didn't have a licence. This turns a small problem into a very serious problem that can incur a jail term.
"It's a timely reminder that no matter the situation, just stop and speak with us. Don't make the situation worse. This type of behaviour puts people at risk."
The man was charged with driving-related offences and summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
