Concerns raised by a Supreme Court judge about the death of a Port Fairy woman who died alone on her bathroom floor will be investigated by the Victorian Coroner's Court.

Kylie Cay died on June 18, 2016 after she was assaulted by Port Fairy man Justin Garry Turner who later pleaded guilty to killing her.
Judge Kevin Bell expressed "serious concerns" during a Warrnambool Supreme Court hearing in September 2017 about an ambulance request being refused after her spleen ruptured at her home.
The inquiry is also expected to probe why the injury that would ultimately kill her was not detected before she was discharged from the Warrnambool Base Hospital.
According to Supreme Court documents recently seen by The Age, the extent of Ms Cay's injuries was not "fully appreciated" when she was discharged from the hospital on June 20, two days after the assault.
In 2017 Justice Bell said Ms Kay was fighting for her life after leaving hospital.
"The circumstances in which the request for that ambulance was refused give rise to serious concern," he said.
"Ms Cay was brutally beaten, attended hospital, discharged home after treatment, called an ambulance in distress and extreme pain during the early hours of the next morning. The request was refused, she had no money for a taxi to the hospital and she died of her wounds later that day. "
A spokeswoman for the Coroners Court of Victoria confirmed an investigation was under way, and Ms Cay's family had requested a full inquest.
Both Ambulance Victoria and Warrnambool Base Hospital would not comment, citing the active coronial investigation.
Justin Garry Turner, 32, pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court to killing Ms Cay and breaching an intervention order by assaulting her, including hitting her with a hammer to the feet and dragging her by the hair in 2017. Turner was jailed for a total effective sentence of 12 years' imprisonment.
