"Occasionally trainers get it right," he said after Mai Shiny Choice won the 30th and final race of the famed three-day carnival on Thursday.
But he wanted the focus on his staff.
"I am extremely fortunate. Everyone says they've got the best staff but gee I think I have," Williams said.
"They do a fantastic job getting these horses ready and they prep horses for Warrnambool and this carnival so it's a great result.
"I didn't think we had quite the strength in our team to win three races for the carnival, (so it's) a fantastic result."
MORE RACING:
Williams scored his first winner on day two with Harbour Views and made it a double with Break And Enter in race six on day three.
Mai Shiny Choice scored a pulsating win over La Lova, trained by Warrnambool's Aaron Purcell, and Havastar, running for Warrnambool's Symon Wilde.
Williams said jockey Damien Thornton deserved to finish the carnival on a high note.
"We put a little bit of pressure on him before, he hadn't rode a winner yet, and he does a lot of work for us at the trials and gallops," he said.
