Kings Brook, who was the only filly and the youngest horse by a year in the race, edged out Mick Price's Whyouask by a neck with the Jamie Edwards-trained Minyinga a further length back.
Brideoake's assistant trainer Alex Woodhams was pleased with the victory after Kings Brook broke a seven-year drought for the stable at Warrnambool.
"It's a really nice change she has had a couple of misses since Moonee Valley and we threw her in the deep end fir her last start," he said.
"It didn't sort of work out and we thought we would drop her back in grade and it worked today."
Woodhams said the decision to put blinkers on came from the advice of her jockey Andrew Mallyon.
"Andrew got off last time and was committed to putting the blinkers on her and everyone at home was happy to do that," he said.
"She is a pretty causal sort of horse and it's not like the blinkers fired her up or anything but it's nice to see her get the job done."
Mallyon said he didn't want to change the way she ran after the field's slow start to the race before she finished strong.
"I didn't really want to ride her against her pattern and I was happy to land outside the leader and when the option came to give her a little bit of cover and give her a suck run I took that," he said.
"So I took that way just to suit her and she traveled so lovely with the blinkers on. She is such a perfect racehourse and she does everything you ask her to.
"They just need to sharpen her up a little bit but I liked the way she picked her way through them and picked them off."
