Denita and husband, trainer Daniel Bowman, cheered Lauban Star on as Harry Coffey rode him to victory in The Standard benchmark 78 handicap on Thursday.
It came two days after the Warrnambool-based mother-of-two was hurt during carnival preparations.
"I was just handling a horse and it got a bit of a fright and it bowled me over and I ended up on my back on the ground," she said.
"I was probably very lucky it didn't step on me but I am OK now.
"I did come up (on Wednesday) but only for a couple of races though and went back home.
"It was good to get a winner today and I will probably head home now and rest up and head out for a big night hopefully.
"I am a lot better and a winner makes it so much better."
MORE RACING:
Daniel broke a four-year carnival drought on Tuesday when Nashville Sound saluted.
Denita said Labuan Star was the stable's only Thursday runner, making the six-year-old gelding's win the ideal way to cap off their week.
"It was the only runner today so it makes it much sweeter," she said.
"We are definitely rapt. It's hard to get a winner anywhere but to get two at your home carnival, it's amazing."
The Bowmans, who will celebrate five years' marriage this year, have worked together for five years.
"I do a bit of everything - jack of all trades," Denita said.
"I do the office work and help in the afternoons and morning shifts."
Denita, who hails from Swan Hill, the same Mallee town as winning jockey Coffey, said she enjoyed juggling work and family life.
The Bowmans have two children - Charlie, who turned four on Tuesday, and Annie, who is two in July.
"Between two kids, 30-odd horses and a cranky husband, we do well to keep it all together," she joked.
