Corbett, who turned 23 on Tuesday, will play his first game against Brisbane Lions in the QClash at Metricon Stadium after replacing Chris Burgess in the Suns' forward line.

The promising goal-kicker, who was picked up as a mature-aged recruit during last year's trade period, impressed during the pre-season before having minor surgery to clean out his knee.

He then kicked four goals in two NEAFL games to earn his chance to play fellow south-west exports Hugh McCluggage and Lewis Taylor, who returns for his first game of the year, in his first time in the AFL spotlight.

The 190cm talent has had an incredible journey to the Suns. He kicked 22 goals in nine games for VFL side Werribee before an eye injury, which sidelined him for the rest of the 2018 season and almost blinded him.

He would then go on to win the VFL's Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal, which is awarded to the league's most promising young talent aged 23 or younger, before being picked up by the Suns.

Corbett will line up alongside fellow forward and big man Peter Wright in his first time in the Suns' colours.
