Irish jig: The Koroit Irish Festival begins on Friday from 6pm with live music at Izzy's Restaurant, Mickey Bourke's Koroit Hotel and the Commercial Hotel. The festival runs until Sunday night at 11pm. It features a range of live entertainment across the weekend including headline act The String Loaded Celtic Fiddle Band, The Borderers, Maria Forde, Christine Ayres School of Irish Dancing and more. Saturday
Reel in a barrel: The final weekend of the Hooked on Tuna fishing competition is on Saturday and Sunday from the Portland Yacht Club with winners sharing in a $5000 cash prize pool.
Game on: There's only three games of Hampden league football and netball this weekend but that doesn't mean the action still won't be high. Port Fairy host Cobden at Gardens Oval, North Warrnambool are back at home to Terang Mortlake and Warrnambool will battle Camperdown at Reid Oval.
Competition heats up: The Warrnambool and District league teams will be back in full swing this weekend with five matches. Old Collegians host Timboon Demons at Davidson Oval, Dennington are at home to neighbours Merrivale, Allansford head to Mack Oval to battle Russells Creek, Panmure has its first home game against East Warrnambool and South Rovers will play Kolora-Noorat.
Racing: Ken Willsher Classic - formula 500 race at Laang Speedway. Gates open at 4pm.
A Taste Of Ireland - Irish music and dance sensation perform at the Lighthouse Theatre at 8pm.
Live music: The Rocking Tones, Warrnambool's Victoria Hotel, playing music from the 50s and 60s, 9pm until late.

Sunday
Theatre: Interested actors and backstage crew are invited to attend an information session on Sunday about the Port Fairy Theatre Group's 2019 Short Play Festival. The festival will feature seven short plays and attendees will hear from the director of each play and will be able to discuss and express their interest in one or more of the plays. It's on at the Port Fairy Lecture Hall, Sackville Street at 10am. There will be auditions and rehearsals in the coming months with the plays to be performed in June.

Tuesday
Off and racing: The three-day May Racing Carnival kicks off at the Warrnambool Racecourse. Gates open at 9.30am. Check out our comprehensive guide to what's on in and around the city, as well as live entertainment and transport to the track here.

Wednesday

Greyhounds: The Warrnambool Greyhound Racing Club will host the Warrnambool Cup group two feature race on Wednesday evening. There will be buses from the Warrnambool Racecourse after the last horse race to ferry patrons to the greyhounds. Gates open at 5pm, with racing from 6pm at the Warrnambool Showgrounds.
Thursday
