Investigators have been told an unknown offender or offenders broke into a home on the Hamilton Highway sometime between March 14 and 17 while the occupants were away.

While inside, the offenders stole a white Apple Mac Book Pro, a quantity of cash and a bank card.

Police believe four unsuccessful attempts were later made to withdraw money using the bank card at an ATM on the corner of Percy and Henty streets, Portland about 3.20am on March 17.

A further attempt is believed to have been made about 11.10pm on March 17 at an ATM on Malop Street, Geelong.

Investigators have released images of two men who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

The first is described as male, caucasian, wearing a black hoodie, cream pants and aged 18 to 30.

The second is described as male, caucasian, wearing a blue hoodie, blue jeans and aged 18 to 30.

Police believe the men had been travelling in a station wagon.
