Warrnambool's historic Flagstaff Hill was abuzz with activity on Easter Sunday, with record numbers turning out for the annual Easter on the Hill event.

Over 10,000 Easter eggs were hidden across Flagstaff Hill's iconic village for what Warrnambool City Council manager of visitor economy David McMahon said was the biggest the event on record.
"We had a really impressive turnout, with over 2500 people through the door," he said.
"We are encouraged by the fact that there were many locals as well as many visitors.
"It was Warrnambool's largest-ever Easter egg hunt, with 10,000 chocolate eggs hidden around the village. We also had live music, local food and beverage vendors and lots of old-fashioned activities.
"It was great to see families disconnect from technology and leave their devices at home and experience the wonderful things here at the maritime museum."
On top of the record-breaking Easter egg hunt, those who attended the family-fun day also enjoyed an animal petting zoo, inflatable slide, jumping castle, face painting, craft and live music from 10am to 3pm.
The Dennis family made a special trip up from Melbourne to experience Easter on the Hill.
"We've come up here today to have some quality family time. We've done pretty much all the activities - the Easter egg hunt, getting the stamps, the penguin colours and of course visiting the jumping castle, animal farm and world-gone-by historic activities," Bryan Dennis said.
"That's what it's all about being here today - quality family time, and this is a great place to do it.
"The kids have found about 30 eggs each!" he added with a laugh.
Mr McMahon said the timing of the Easter and Anzac public holidays has seen more people visit the area this long weekend.
"Warrnambool has had an action-packed weekend, with many accommodation operators being at full capacity. We're expecting a really strong unofficial third week of the school holidays, with Easter Monday and the Anzac commemorations falling on Thursday," he said.
"Our usual peak for Easter has been extended a week."
