The 19-year-old has not missed a senior game for the Victoria Park-based club this season after five games in 2018 and just two the year before that.

Robb, who was one of the Saints' best players in the 65-point victory over South Warrnambool on Friday night, credited fitting into the team's mentality had been a key to him keeping his spot.

"Hard in and under I would describe it. We have good gun midfielders in and I just play my role and hopefully keep my spot," the utility said.

Robb, who played in the Saints' losing under 18 grand final team last season, said the Dobson brother's - Sam and Ben - return has had a big impact on the playing group.

"They just know everything and if you need to talk to them about anything they are just there and they are great support for the forward and back line," he said.

Robb said McLaren had installed the "play our role" mentality across the whole team and mentioned it as the key to the Saints continuing their early season form.

He said it was pleasing to head into the break after the 16.15 (111) to 8.8 (56) victory.

"It was a good win, a good grind against South Warrnambool and it was good to come with a win after such a tough game," he said.

"It's good going into a two week break with a win."
