The Warriors led by nine goals at three-quarter time but had to fight off the Tigers to claim a two-goal win in their Warrnambool and District clash at Merrivale Recreation Reserve.
Forth said she was pleased with the 49-47 win but wanted her team to maintain its consistency throughout matches.
"We've had lulls through the quarters and that's where the other teams build a bit of momentum," she said.
Forth said a key to improvement was "controlling the play when we're in front".
The Warriors mentor said she believed her team had a lot of potential.
"I don't think we've hit our best netball as yet so we're really excited," she said.
MORE NETBALL:
The match was a fierce contest in the first half and the Warriors took a four-goal lead into half-time.
In the third quarter they leaped ahead, outscoring the Tigers 14 goals to nine.
Forth said her team found its rhythm and were able to capitilise.
"I think we settled into our game plan and controlled it," she said.
But then the Tigers struck in the the forth-quarter.
"Credit to Merrivale, they came back," Forth said.
"They had a few different combinations and fresh legs which gave them a bit of momentum but we were able to hold on for the win."
Old Collegians goal keeper Sara Quinn was back after being unavailable last Saturday.
The Warriors co-coach said it was good to have Quinn back.
"Absolutely, Sara brings leadership and experience to our defence," she said.
"Her talk is valuable to our team."
Forth was best on court, while wing attack Vanessa McLaren and goal attack Chelsea Quinn had outstanding matches in the Warriors second win of the season.
Merrivale coach Carly Peake said her team would learn plenty from the loss.
"We had a pretty good first quarter and an exceptional last quarter," she said.
Peake said she was pleased her side fought back but was disappointed they found themselves nine goals down at the final change.
"We just got a bit caught up emotionally with a few things," she said.
"And that can't happen in netball because that's what can lose you a game and that's definitely what lost us this game today."
But she said a positive was that her young players including Tatum Cassidy, April Worden and Eliza Ljubic got to play in tight contest.
"Those girls like Tatum, April and Eliza were put under pressure today so that was some really good experience for those girls," she said.
In other netball matches this weekend, East Warrnambool hosts Russells Creek and Nirranda meets South Rovers.
The Bombers and Kangaroos are after their first wins of the season.
Nirranda will be hoping to make it three-straight, while South Rovers is aiming for its first win.
