Book bonanza: Lifeline's popular Easter Book Fair has been extended to five days this year. The Warrnambool shop has been transformed into a book extravaganza, complete with Easter eggs and hot cross buns. More than 20,000 pre-loved books will be for sale with proceeds to go towards Lifeline's suicide prevention services. There will be a Rotary Club sausage sizzle on Saturday and prizes and giveaways each day of the fair. It's on at 134 Lava Street, Warrnambool.
Friday
Reflect: Walk of Witness combined churches event from Warrnambool's Cannon Hill at 11am to Lake Pertobe for readings and songs.
Footy feast: Fans will be treated to two Good Friday matches in Warrnambool. Warrnambool and District league clubs Merrivale and Old Collegians will meet at Merrrivale Recreation Reserve from 2.20pm. South Warrnambool and Koroit will clash in the Hampden league at Friendly Societies' Park from 4pm.
Good Friday Appeal fundraiser: Help raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital on Friday from 4pm to 7pm at Warrnambool's Cally Hotel. There will be performances by local musicians, raffles, a silent auction with a percentage of food and drink purchases to be donated to the annual appeal.
Music By The Lake: Help raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal at Camperdown's Lake Purrumbete Caravan Park from noon. Live music, raffles and competitions. BYO chairs and shade.
Admire: View the Mercy Place Easter stained glass window display during the month of April and try to locate the Easter icons. The window display is located near the front doors and can be viewed from inside or outside the building at 16 Hopetoun Road, Warrnambool.
Easter Arts Festival: View Our Lady Help of Christians church window display in Selby Road, Warrnambool and an Easter school art competition and photography display at Gateway Plaza until April 29.
Saturday
Port Fairy Easter Fair: Port Fairy Belfast Lions will host its annual Easter Fair with more than 90 market stalls, a car boot sale, book and CD sale, barbecues, raffles and food vendors at Railway Place, Port Fairy from 8am-2pm.
Sea views: Port Fairy Rotary Club will host Lighthouse tours at Griffiths Island on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Adults $5, children $1 or family $10.
Browse: The Warrnambool Uniting Church arts and craft show is on from Saturday to Monday from 10am to 4pm. It features paintings, quilts, liturgical banners, a churches of Europe photo slideshow, water colour pen and wash by Warrnambool artist Andrew Suggett and displays by the Warrnambool Floral Art group. There is a pipe organ recital 2pm daily and a Flowering of the Cross at the Easter Sunday church service at 10.30am on Sunday. Entry is by donation with proceeds to the Warrnambool Special Developmental School.
Fishing: Warrnambool and District Angling Club will host its Easter fishing competition from 10am on Saturday and until noon Sunday. Enter at the clubrooms at 3 Otway Road on the day from 9am. Entry $15 seniors, $5 juniors.
Reel in a barrel: The Hooked on Tuna fishing competition continues in Portland on Saturday and Sunday. It began on April 6 and 7 and runs for four weekends until Sunday, April 28 from the Portland Yacht Club with winners sharing in a $5000 cash prize pool.
Art: Merri View Gallery will present an exhibition of Warrnambool and District Artists' Society works, celebrating Easter each weekend from 12pm to 4pm at 4 Coramba Court, Warrnambool. Free entry.
Live music: Mickey Bourke's Koroit Hotel: Nick How from 8pm and Cally Hotel: Mark & Gonz from 9pm.
Sunday
Worship: An Easter Sunday sunrise service will be held at Warrnambool's Cannon Hill at 6.30am.
Easter on the Hill: If you are looking for a fun and family-friendly event on Easter Sunday hop along to Flagstaff Hill. There are 10,000 eggs hidden around the venue. There will be an animal petting zoo, giant inflatable slide and jumping castle, face painting and craft activities. Scouts will conduct old-fashioned games. There will be live music from Mick Ferguson and Cooper Lower. Sow and Piglets Brewery beer tasting. Bambino Pizza, a barbecue and the tea rooms will be available for lunch.
Live music: Warrnambool Bowls Club: Richard Tankard from 3-6pm, Hotel Warrnambool: Shannon Bourne from 3pm, Cally Hotel Beer Garden: Trevor & Mel from 4pm.
The race is on: The Easter Sprintcar Trail - a three-night series which features races at Avalon, Mount Gambier and Warrnambool - will wrap up at Premier Speedway on Sunday night. Gates open at 3pm with a pit party until 4pm. Racing starts at 5pm. The night will include season-ending fireworks.
