A NETBALLER'S homecoming came earlier than expected on Saturday.
Former Warrnambool and Port Fairy coach Emma Cust lined up for the Blues against Terang Mortlake.
Cust, pictured above in her return match, had hoped to play this season but didn't plan on lining up in round two.
You can read her story below.
She will have time to recover for her next match with the Hampden league having a bye for Easter this weekend.
Only South Warrnambool and Koroit will play with their game at Friendly Societies' Park on Good Friday.
The Warrnambool and District league also has a Good Friday contest with Merrivale to host Old Collegians in what has become an annual fixture.
Two games - Nirranda versus South Rovers and East Warrnambool versus Russells Creek - will be contested on Easter Saturday.
