THE training partnership of Ciaron Maher and David Eustace had its first group one winner since joining forces on August 1 last year, when Kenedna scored a last stride victory in the $1.1 million Coolmore Legacy Stakes at Randwick on Saturday.

Maher, who had trained ten group one winners in his own right before the partnership began, said Kenedna will target races in Queensland over the winter.
The five-year-old mare was having her third run for the Maher-Eustace stable after starting her career with Darren Weir.
"She deserved the win," Maher said. "It was a very tight finish. She came to us in great order from Weiry. We wanted to keep her fresh for this race.
I thought it was a super ride by John Allen. John has a great understanding of Kenedna. It's also a wonderful result for David and the rest of our staff.
"There's a couple of nice races in Queensland which we will look at for her."
Yogi was unplaced for the Maher-Eustace combination in the Sydney Cup, while Mask Of Time ran sixth behind the mighty mare Winx in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes for the stable.
Meanwhile, American In Paris ran third for Symon Wilde in a $150,000 race over 2425 metres at Caulfield on Saturday.
