This week we were officially told we're off to the polls on May 18.
Are you looking forward to the federal election campaign?
We need to make candidates and parties work hard for our votes.
The behaviour and policies dished up by the parties and individuals has been sadly lacking.
While we remain the lucky country, we need a vision to deliver better health, education, transport and economic outcomes. We need our politicians to inspire us.
We are fed up with the factions, in-fighting, leadership changes, petty politics and self-interest.
The seat of Wannon, which covers the south-west, is held by a big margin. So far, we have only two candidates, Labor's Maurice Billi and the United Australia Party's Joshua Wallace taking on incumbent Liberal Dan Tehan. The trio outlined their campaigns earlier this week.
Just like the state election, we need Wannon to be a close fight. We need a marginal seat so our cases for funding (roads in particular) are heard by a new government.
Keep an eye on your emails this week for details to win a May Racing Carnival experience with us.
Here's some of the stories that made headlines this week in case you missed them.
