A barnstorming opening term meant South Warrnambool was always in the driver's seat on the way to securing a 49-34 win over Hamilton Kangaroos.

The Roosters slotted 15 first quarter goals before taking a 13-goal lead into the main break of the Hampden league fixture.
Hamilton Kangaroos playing-coach Kelsey Lewis - who was best on court - gave her side a pasting at half-time, demanding all players keep their heads up no matter what happened on the scoreboard.
And while the Roosters continued to dominate in the third term, the Kangaroos showed some ticker in the last quarter to outscore the home side by two goals despite victory being out of reach.
Marlie Boyd shone for South Warrnambool, while 2018 league MVP Eliza Dwyer cut an imposing figure in the ring and finished with 39 goals.
Roosters coach Mandy Van Rooy said she was thrilled her side could rebound after losing to Port Fairy by six goals last week.
"We had four strong quarters and I'm really proud of the girls," she said.
"We knew they weren't going to stop, so probably our main aim was to just keep our foot on the pedal."
Van Rooy said Boyd put in a best on court performance for South Warrnambool in goal defence.
"She read the ball really well and worked with Hannah Loveday," the coach said.
Loveday, along with other youngsters in Isabella Rae and Jess Hardiman, continued to impress.
"They're fantastic netballers and they're picked in the side because of that," Van Rooy said.
Laura Robinson stood tall for Hamilton, according to the Kangaroos mentor, along with Rhianne Lewis.
"They worked their butts off in the circle," Lewis said.
"They had a tough job out there against Eliza (Dwyer), but they took several balls and intercepts and were able to do their job.
"Unfortunately the rest of the court didn't follow suit."
Lewis, who led an extended post-match talk with her side in the middle of the court, said the Kangaroos struggled to get the basics right from the opening whistle.
"They were throwing away silly passes and we pretty much handed South the win," she said.
"Our mistakes were continuous and we just weren't able to capitalise on the things we did well.
"Much the same as the last week - we got off to a terrible first quarter before rallying later in the game.
"We need to be capable of realising when our errors are coming and turn the game at that point, rather than waiting for the break."
Hamilton now has a 12-day break before hosting Portland on Anzac Day.
"We'll regroup and hopefully have a strong first quarter - that will put the girls' mindset in a more positive space," Lewis said.
"I think because they're so young we're just trying to get them used to the speed of the game."
South Warrnambool hosts reigning premiers Koroit on Good Friday in round three.
