Double Bluff, who was previously trained by Gerald Ryan at Rosehill, was sent to Warrnambool trainer Aaron Purcell with a jumping career in mind.
"He's had a few flat runs for us and this flat run will top him off for the maiden hurdle on the opening day of the Warrnambool Carnival," Purcell said.
"We've given him a couple of hurdle trials and schools and he loves the jumping caper. I'm sure he will be hard to beat in the maiden hurdle at Warrnambool.
"He ran sixth in the Adelaide Cup for us and that was a nice flat performance. He run an honest race at Caulfield but there will be some just too smart for him."
Double Bluff is rated a $26 chance for Saturday's race.
Fellow Warrnambool trainer Symon Wilde saddles up American In Paris in a listed race for three-year-olds, while Simon Ryan accepted with Grandview Avenue in a 1000-metre race.
Ryan has engaged the services of apprentice jockey Teo Nugent for the ride.
Jarrod McLean has Jumbo Prince running in the final race on the program. Ciaron Maher, who trains in partnership with David Eustace, has numerous runners including Bons Away, Dr Drill and Pacodali.
