The 20-year-old said the Steph Townsend-coached side wasn't dwelling on the previous Warrnambool and District League season's achievements as it entered the grand final rematch against Dennington on Saturday.
"We have got last season out of our minds and focusing on this season," she said.
"We can't afford to take any team lightly or keep last year in our minds."
In last year's decider the Blues ended the Dogs' dominance over the competition with a 53-40 victory, simultaneously ending an 18-year drought in the league's top grade.
The Blues have also stocked up in the off-season bringing in the likes of two-time league best and fairest Cloe Marr from Timboon Demons along with Lisa Couch (Terang Mortlake), Anna Archie and Montanna Wallace.
Adams said Marr had adjusted well to life at the Blues.
"Cloe has slotted right into the team both on and off the court. She is very agile on the court and is able to adjust her play to work with our defenders and it's good to have that extra experience on the court," she said.
"Steph has been rotating more around the defence and attack, obviously with Marr it puts Steph in a position where she can put Katie (Ryan) in the mid-court and rotate the defence a lot more.
"Georgia Haberfield has also been having a run in goals at training, she's just working with more options if we need to change things up."
The goal shooter said confidence was key to the Blues' hopeful charge back into finals.
"It's the start of the season and it's vital to get that going early on in the season," she said.
"As we do have a few new players, we are working towards nailing plays and working together as a team. I've already played with Lisa Couch and Steph so I'm familiar with their style of play, and Anna Archie has slotted right into the centre position along with Cloe in the defence.
"So far things are running smoothly for us to reach our main goal, which is to hopefully make it to finals again."
