A drunk motorist was caught behind the wheel after deciding to drive less then three kilometers home from a Mortlake pub.

Wesley Wareham, 51, of Mount Road, Mortlake, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to drink driving.
He was convicted and fined $500 and his licence was disqualified for 18-months.
On January 1, police travelling south on Mortlake's Webster Road observed Wareham leaving Macs Hotel about 1am.
He walked towards his black Toyota wagon before realising police were nearby and continued walking.
Police drove away but continued to observe Wareham, who went back to his vehicle before driving less than three kilometres to his Mount Road home.
He was intercepted outside his property and conveyed to a police station, where he blew .185.
Wareham told police he had been drinking beer and "needed to get f**king home".
In other news, a diesel mechanic who blew more than four times the legal limit has lost his licence for nearly two years.
Joshua Moutray, 29, of Ziegler Parade, Allansford, pleaded guilty to drink driving.
Magistrate Franz Holzer said the "stupidly high" reading put other road users at serious risk.
Moutray told the court he drank too much and wasn't thinking straight. He said there was no other reason for his offending.
On December 22 Moutray was intercepted by police in Grassmere about 2.40am.
He blew .216.
Moutray's vehicle was impounded for 30 days, his licence was suspended for 21 months and he was convicted and fined $2000.
