Marlene Blake, 50, of Keith Street, pleaded guilty in Warrnambool Magistrates Court to driving-related offences.
On December 11, Blake exited the driveway of a Warrnambool property and entered the roundabout at Botanic and Mortlake roads about 8pm. She travelled through the roundabout in the wrong direction before clipping a concrete island and colliding with a power box.
Blake attempted to reverse the vehicle but a witness seized the keys and called police.
The vehicle suffered moderate damage and was towed from the scene.
Blake said at the time of the collision she was stressed about family issues.
But Magistrate Franz Holzer said he had trouble linking stress with dangerous driving.
"If you are distracted that easily, one wonders if you should be on the roads," he said.
Blake told the court she had not driven since the incident as she was too scared.
"I could have backed into a child," she said.
Blake was ordered to drive a safe driving course. Mr Holzer did not record a conviction but ordered Blake be of good behavior for a period of 12 months.
