The Warrnambool Surf Lifesaving Club member finished second in the under-19 board at The Aussies on the Gold Coast on Sunday.
"I was bottom-age this year so I'll be top-age next year and be striving to go one better," he said.
Casamento was one of two Warrnambool members to medal at the 2019 competition.
Ellie Johnson claimed silver in the under 17 single ski on Saturday.
"It was really good for me and Ellie but they are for the whole club," Casamento said.
"We are the lucky ones to get them. 2001 was the last time the club got open medals (at nationals), so it's been a while."
Casamento, a Deakin University commerce student, competed in the under-19 board final alongside Warrnambool clubmate Paddy O'Brien.
He said it was a thrill to medal in a final which featured 16 of the nation's best.
"It was my fourth time (at The Aussies) but my first individual final," he said.
"I have been unlucky the last couple of years but I have focussed on it a lot more this year.
"I started on the left-hand side and snuck out when most got hit (by a wave) and snuck around a can.
"Four got a wave and two of us held it the whole way through.
"I lost the sprint up the beach. He had quicker legs."
Casamento, who is holidaying on the Sunshine Coast, will now turn his attention to next season.
